good or bad hire for Arkansas?

I say pretty mediocre. Not quite the homerun they were talking about.

Is it for sure he will accept?

I mean Cullen Harper is junior he as a chance to win the ACC next year. Arkansas fans have a certain reputation too.

If he accepts, mediocre hire, especially considering some of the named people were throwing around.

I would say he is an average coach about the equivalent of Houston Nutt. Certainly not an upgrade but not a downgrade either. He will win some games, but does not have a reputation that will help him recruit nationally. Arkansas will probably stay about where they have been, which is not terrible but not great.

hes fairly young and has decent success. arkansas didn't fire nutt so i don't think they are looking for an upgrade, although they may say otherwise. I think if they can get him he would be a good pick for them.

Tommy Bowden @ Clemson:

1999 6-6 Lost Peach Bowl to Miss St
2000 9-3 Lost Gator Bowl to VT
2001 7-5 Won Humanitarian Bowl La Tech
2002 7-6 Lost Tangerine Bowl to Tx Tech
2003 9-4 Won Peach Bowl v Tenn
2004 6-5 Declined bowl as penalty for team fighting against S.C.
2005 8-4 Won Champs Sports Bowl v Colo
2006 8-5 Lost Music City Bowl v UK
2007 9-3 Undetermined

I listen to Charlotte sports talk and Clemson is not far from Charlotte. A large portion of the listeners are Clemson fans (as is Mark Packer, the host, who is Clemson alum) so lots of Clemson discussion.

Clemson is a football school and this guy is on and off of the hot seat EVERY year, just like Nutt has been in Arky. Lots of Clemson fans would be thrilled to see him gone.

Bowden is mediocre at best and you would think the hogs could do better.
