This is the biggest joke I've ever heard. For anyone who actually believes this is even crossed the minds of the LSU decision makers, or Saban for that matter, I have some ocean front property I want to sell you - and I have a bridge I can throw in as well. When has there ever been a case where such a high profile coach did such a thing? Even if Saban wanted to come back to LSU he has to know he'd be ridiculed to no end by the media and college football world for making such a move. The guy would lose any credibility that he has remaining and would be seen as a complete joke!!!! Then most of all why in the hell would LSU want Nick Saban back as HC? It would be like getting back with your wife after she left you for your worst enemy. If you're one of those individuals still in turmoil about Nick Saban you need to build and bridge and get over it because he's never, ever going to come back to LSU.

That ship has sailed. I would not mind a Saban return, but I don't even think he will try to pull that off.

It could be spun as a PR move for him to regain credibility. Saban finally finds home, returns to stay put. etc.... It could all really work to LSU's favor if played correctly. Could maybe even pull some good players out of Alabama in the process. I think people need to remove the emotional part out of the equation, and step back and look at what could be accomplished by bringing him back.

And you don't think it's crossed their minds? He didn't leave us to go straight to Bama. If he did, then of course I wouldn't want him back. Leaving from Miami, the Alabama position was the best one he could get at that time. He left us at a great point in our football program. He admitted his mistakes. Credibility, yeah I will give you that, he will probably lose some. But, if anything, he comes back, it will only show the rest of the country where his loyalty belongs. Regardless of the fact, he is a great recruiter.

You tell em BOOKIT. I have been saying that word for word to people all week. Not only that, but that means he would have went to Alabama for a year and totally wrecked them silly.

Not at all. It's more like your employee leaving for a higher paying more prestigious job, realizing it wasn't what it was cracked up to be, then going to work for your competition because you didn't have any job openings.

It's not LIKE that. It's exactly that.

Good potential spin right there. Seriously, this man may have personally sabotaged a SEC rival intentionally. He should be given some type of purple heart for this. He could be considered a hero for forever destroying Alabama's self perception as best team in the SEC.

Honestly most of the bad press has to do with Miami, Don Shula, Mike Shula and how it all played out. If he screwed Alabama, the national press might get off his back.

Hiring Saban to be our next coach would be akin to getting a divorce, you and your wife each remarry, then both re-divorce so you can get married again......It just ain't gonna happen.....

Wheew, finally someone to put it all to rest. I guess now we in Bamaland will start debating on possible replacements. Maybe we'll start a special board just for all the coaching rumors too. I'm voting for Paul Johnson, now that I know Saban is probably gone.

What? No, I'm being serious. I'm not being sarcastic at ALL. Honest. I think Saban will probably go back to LSU. It makes perfect sense. I mean, LSU fans think Baton Rouge is better. What more reason does Saban need?

Well, if he doesnt want to wind up unemployed or coaching high school football like your last four coaches, he will get the hell out of Tuscaloosa.

I'd suggest bama considers re-hiring Saban... he's always looking!! He could probably get bama to 7-5 in 2008!

I guess I don't understand how you can equate an employment situation with a marriage. But then that seems to be the problem with the majority of our fan base: a bunch of grown men turn into whiny emotional women because of football. I wish some of you would quit acting like a woman scorned and take a minute to look at the situation rationally. You'll see it's really not that horrible of a situation IF Saban did come back. Highly unlikely he does, but people that act like it would be such a travesty if he did need to get a grip.
