Ryan could be a very good college coach. He seems to have a great personality for it.

If you were him, wouldn't major college HC be a better future than career NFL DC from this point forward?

Being a college coach is way more responsibility. You have the same coaching responsibility plus recruiting, academics, fund raising, and character development of a bunch snot nosed boys. You can coach in the NFL and be a thug and not have to play nice. College coaches need to be able to sweet talk moms.

Didn't he say he's going into broadcasting if he gets fired?

I love Rex, he is the personification of the Jets, but it's time for a change. After all the high priced free agents washed out, its always been something that tanks the team.

Drafts have been over reactionary under him, offense has been hung out to dry under him, and he has struggled to piece together a complete defense lately. He should share the blame with the GM, but the last one was a scapegoat and still the record remains the same.

He is a hell of a motivator and communicator, a tool that's invaluable in a coaching career. I'm not sure he has enough care or the understanding mindset about offense to exceed his ceiling. He needs a strong offensive mind to pair with himself, otherwise he will try to run the ball and force his D to do the heavy lifting.

I'm not sure he has the couth to succeed as a college coach. He will will draw recruits with his bravado and NFL experience, but can he hook the parents too?

Yeah, I agree. He definitely needs another shot down the road. You can see his team loves playing for him

JETS ownership stupid. they interviewed JH and said they were not impressed.

Ryan is a good coach. the issue is the front office. they need keep Ryan and get rid of gm.

bill parcells son in law is very good. He built pat, chiefs roster. They should try to hire him

He hasn't coached in CFB since 98 at OU, but yeah, he's definitely more of an NFL guy
