"Les won't go to Michigan, he just wants them to offer him the job so he can turn it down."

That was in September of 2007 after UM lost to Appy State and the talk first started. I always thought it was a very interesting thing to say. Maybe he was blowing smoke, but I wonder if there isn't some truth to it.

Think Miles might listen to UM, get an offer, and then say he's staying at LSU? Bertman was a pretty smart guy.

They should put Bertman in charge of hiring the next coach.

Good point. Didn't remember that. But, if I'm Les I'd tell Michigan 5 years, $25 million then we'll talk. If not, then stay at LSU OR if Michigan bites then force LSU to redo his contract for more years and/or more money but not $5 mil/yr. Either way, Les wins and take care of his family even better than he has so far.

Skip said this? I'd like to see some documentation on it. Do you have a source or a link?
Thanks

It was in an article in one of the local papers when he said it. Most of those articles expire after a year or so.

Promise you he said it...I'll see if I can dig it up. Hopefully someone else remembers it.
