Ok IF Shoop ends up being DC, how would it affect recruiting QB's and LB's?

(wasn't sure whether to put this on the CC board or the Recruiting Board so feel free to move it if I chose wrong)

For some reason it seems like Pennsylvania has been known (at least in the past) for producing Quarterbacks and Linebackers. Has Shoop been at Penn St. long enough to develop any contacts that would maybe produce a player or player in one of these positions for us if he comes here? Seems like these are two positions we are always looking for.

Bonus question - What was Shoop's recruiting stomping grounds at Vandy?

His hiring definitely would produce some players from the area. Likely at the same rate we would get TN/GA players with Chief here. Shoop's specialty is the Secondary though. Safeties in particular, though I think he would let Raymond do his thing. Not sure of any QB's or LB's he has brought in to other programs.

Quarterbacks? No impact at all.

Linebackers? I don't think he was at PSU long enough for him to really make his mark regionally. If he were there for 3 years, maybe, but just 1? I don't think so.

That is if you're talking about Pennsylvania recruits. LSU might grab a prospect from that area of the country once every other year. Shoops will have a much bigger impact here in the South and has more contacts down here from his Vandy days compared to up North.

Could bring Garrett Taylor back into the mix
He was going to visit LSU before he committed to Penn St
