Lane Kiffin Hiring

Thats pretty understandable. Kiffin has always had a good offensive mind, its his defense and game calling that hurts him. Saban will help Kiffin improve in play calling, and Saban will also handle the defense.

I don't like the hire, but at the same time I see why he did it. Saban will fire him before he messes anything up so if I was a Bama fan, I wouldn't be worried.

So, he is not recruiting, talking to players, making decisions, or talking to the media. Interesting.

Recruiting,

I think Nick has told him not use the, "If you don't come to Alabama you're going to end up pumping gas" line.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. He will just coach and no dealings with the media.

Why take that risk? Is it that high a reward? The damage will have already been done.

I'll enjoy the shite show.

So Kiffins basically the scapegoat for Bamas 9-4 record next year?

He's a good coach that took on too much, too soon. He was a NFL head coach by age 32.

I think the scariest thing for Bama fans with this hire is Saban thinks he actually made the right choice.

And in all your infinite wisdom and successful coaching career, you think he didn't?

I'm not sure it's fair to call him "good."

What exactly has he done? He Held a clipboard at USC while sark and Carrol were in charge of play calling. He didn't exactly coach up Matt Barkley too well either. Kiffin good? Decent maybe, but way unproven to be considered "good."

Boys! Boys! Boys! The stench of fear prevails all across your posts. Just relax and understand that the pain won't last forever...and it'll come just once a year.

To me, the mere fact that this hire has to be explained and/or justified is quite telling.

Personally, I think saban just wanted someone that he could control more easily. Kiffin is so desperate for relevance right now that he's willing to be anybody's bitch.
