i'm afraid that Miles has been thinking about the michigan gig all year...and he is as good as gone already. Here are my top 5 guys. I hope our administration is not prideful enough to give some coordinators a chance.

1. Jack Del Rio - He wanted the job a few years ago but circumstances just didn't work out. I think he would be an outstanding head coach at LSU. Very passionate guy...great personality...great motivator...great defensive mind.

2. Will Muschamp - He is a head coach in waiting. Some would argue that LSU is not a place where head coaches make a name for themselves...but I don't see why we couldn't hire him if he comes in and lays down an impressive recruiting plan, coaching plan, coordinators plan, etc.

3. Jim Grobe - This guy has done an incredible job at Wake Forest, a basketball school first. Think about how hard it is to recruit football players to Wake Forest. He has coached up his guys the last few years...won the ACC last year...he'd be worth an interview anyway.

4. Bill Cowher - A pipe dream in my opinion. He is an NFL guy. Don't get me wrong...it'd be amazing to have him in Baton Rouge. We'd have to put some sort of NFL clause in his contract or something. Think about the possiblities of "The Chin" in Baton Rouge.

5. Rich Rodriguez - I'm not convinced that he'd leave WVU...but it'd be worth a shot to get him. He knows Louisiana...done a great job at WVU...great offensive schemer...and he would bring in a great coaching staff.

No to Muschamp, not ready for a HC job yet. Maybe to Jim Grobe.

Wouldn't your number 2, WM...be a problem then?

Will Muschamp would be a great hire imo. Hes young, hell of a recruiter and we wouldnt have to hire a dc. Better hire then spurrier or tubby for long term

I like Rodriguez too, but IF Miles leaves we might have trouble trying to get him if his team is preparing for the National Championship.

I like Will Muschamp. If Spurrier would come and WM gets DC with opportunity to be HC after SPurrier Retirement. LSU would be in great shape.

The fact that he entertained the thought of going to Bama means he may think about going elsewhere. I do like him but I do think in the end he will stay at WVU and that he uses the interviews in his negotiations for raises.

you can't go wrong at all with 1., 4., and 5. IMO, those coaches will keep lsu on a very respectable level and lsu will compete for sec and national titles every year with those coaches.

I believe Brian Kelly would be a great hire he is really under the radar but everywhere he has gone his teams have had instant success look at Cincinnati.
