Long-time NFL coach has already stated he'd return to college game for the right opportunity. While age is an issue it didn't stop Kansas State from hiring Bill Snyder and might create some positive momentum for a program needing to reverse field. Not needed at a place like Florida, but perhaps at Michigan or Nebraska.

Shanahan is way too old to get hired in taking a fresh start at a collegiate level where much energy and long hours of dedication must be invested in turning a program in the right direction.

He's too old for a fresh start. He should be retiring.
