Wheatley is probably my favorite UM RB of all time. Hopefully he'll have that unit coached up.

Tyrone Wheatley is my second favorite all time Wolverine RB.

Anthony A-Train Thomas is my favorite being a NLA guy.

I'm partial to Leroy Hoard who was a beast at St Aug and '89 Rose Bowl MVP while at UM

In my child hood memories, seems like he was a big play machine. Loved Wheatley

I know I'm old because I remember him on my FFL team back in the day. Loved him for a season or two.

Great game. If memory serves, that's the year they gave out souvenir seat pads at the game. When Hoard scored the winner, the cushions rained on the field.

Wheatley vs Washington in the 1993 Rose Bowl was fantastic. My personal favorite Michigan RB that I can remember watching was Mike Hart. Hart wasn't big or fast but that guy had awesome vision and was damn near impossible to bring down on first contact.

Chris Howard was the most underrated.

Likely lands them his son most importantly for them at the moment. They weren't likely to get him before this.

RB coach at Buffalo for the past 3 seasons. He is replacing Fred Jackson, who was the rb coach when Wheatley went to Michigan and has remained all these years until now. wow

Fred Jackson was extremely stale. He needed to go.

Wheatley was indeed fun to watch and yes Hoard was a MAN. Hoard could knock 2 backers down to get a first down or take it 70 yds to the house. That 93 Rose Bowl, they played the Huskies and that is back when Washington was Washington. The Huskies had lost 2 games I believe, one to Drew Bledsoe and Wazzou. I dont think the Big 10 had won the Rose Bowl in a while either but Wheatley and steady as she goes Elvis Grbac played lights out. One back that doesn't get the credit he deserves also was little Jamie Morris. In 86 at the horseshoe Harbaugh had run and passed that day but in the 4th qtr UM lined up and ran Morris behind Jumbo Elliot like 10 times to seal the deal. Kumerow and Chris Spielman were getting mashed.

Apparently the deal is "far from done", so you may be jumping the gun a bit. But it sure seems to be happening.

FWIW, Harbaugh met with him at Red Robin
