Think about the brand name football coaching changes ...

This year .... Penn State, tOSU, Texas A&M, UCLA, probably Texas and if Saban jumps Bama,

And last year, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Miami

And prior year, Tenn, USC, Notre Dame, Clemson,

Plus changes at BCS schools in that time frame that aren't maybe as traditional football powers, West Virgina, Maryland, Arizona, Arizona State, Ole Miss, Washington State, Kansas, K-State

And this is just off the top of my head .... Coaches have gotten the big paychecks but the NFL type pressure has come with it. to a degree the SEC dominance, especially by a few teams comes into play also. Pressure, money, SEC frustration all adds up to a wave a changes.

Programs with stability I would think have an added advantage today in recruiting and reputation.

I agree. Tennessee will not help themselves if they boot Dooley, plus it is almost too late to do it now.
