Yup. They are going after him pretty hard. It depends on how much they offer and what FSU counters with. So far there hasn't been any word as to what's happening.

I know Auburn fans haven't been too happy with him AND he is pretty happy w/ FSU

Yeah the rumblings are that it's a done deal...the more I hear about Pruitt the more I like it. Most say he is next in line at Bama behind Smart.

At least he's a former player. Mama could call one day, if he does work out at Florida State.

I think they'll regret that.

The rumors about Burns and Thompson leaving wouldn't help either. Lucky finally said 0 chance Thompson leaves but didn't know anything on Burns but he would do some checking.

Why? Great recruiter, db coach, sabanite, and Fisher has consistently made some great hires.

I wasn't too sure when I first heard his name pop up, but the more about I've read the more I'm thinking it'll be a great hire.

We may be going after Burton, too. Don't know why he would make that move unless saban is going pro

Seems like a stretch hire... excellent recruiter, but Saban coaches the D-backs...

I think Jeremy Pruitt is great and likely would have been next in line as DC at Alabama, when Kirby Smart left. However, that's under Nick Saban's tutelage and not on his own. He's been a college assistant for three years. Prior to that he was support staff at Alabama. Outside of that, his only college coaching experience was in 1997 as a student assistant at Alabama. He was in high school coaching from 1998-2006.

He was next in line after Smart. Not to mention, Saban would have told Jimbo if he wasn't ready.

I'm excited

But he'll be coordinating his on defense at Florida State. He didn't even have the secondary to himself at Alabama. I think he will be a great coach, but it won't be over night. He was being brought along at Alabama.

We have plenty of talent to make his job easier. Plus, we're in the ACC.

So because Sunseri has been a dud, so will Pruitt? Don't get your logic there.

Most coaches on the Saban coaching tree fail without Saban. The odds are against Pruitt...especially since he has very little experience.

What did Pruitt actually do for Alabama if, as we all know, Saban coached the DBs?

I like this hire for UA and for FSU. Pruitt was a rising star on Saban's staff and a great recruiter. While we will certainly miss Pruitt on the recruiting trail, this is more evidence that coaching under Saban opens doors. We will find a capable replacement (maybe even bring sunseri back).

As long as our coaches leave for promotions, it is fine. Now if burns leaves for a lateral move, I will not be as happy.
