Is the "wait 24 hrs for interview" clause in contract true?

We may never know

I assume it would be between Miles and the AD.

If we knew if it was given today, it would answer a lot of questions.

Pretty sad that not only are we stressed out over a coach, but you guys are as well.

This is not an "interview" situation in the typical sense. Everybody involved in the situations knows one another pretty good. Not an intro type of deal.

Why would anyone be stressed over this?

It's not a contractual issue, it's a gentlemens agreement.

I understand that DB and LM go a ways back. Without the "interview", there cannot be a contract signed I am thinking.

Thus it negates a lot of speculation. /shrug

It actually is in his contract to give 24 hours notice. It can be found in section 12C on page 9 of the original contract.

However, LSU does not have to make public that the notice has been given.

The Contact is at this link.

Jmo that if he actually meets with them, he is taking it. He doesn't wanna alienate anymore of the fan base. I hear that meeting is Tuesday

"Tuesday", as in Dallas at the Coaches Conference Tuesday? Could be a pretty good place to meet since all parties are probably gonna be there anyway.

does it really matter if he honors this part? I mean, if he decides to leave what are they going to do...fire him? I don't see LSU terminating him for not giving the 24 hr notice, but that is just me. Seems like a non-factor in this situation. Thoughts?

he has a guaranteed contract. If he breaches that, he loses all that money and basically hands all leverage from his Salary at LSU in the negotiations with UM.

Les likely is taking this weekend to discuss this with his wife and kids. I'd assume a decision like that will be a family one.

I'm operating under the assumption that most of the ground work will be done by his agent and the meeting will take place only if he is accepting or strongly planning on accepting the job. Therefore, the 24 hour notice will be of little relevance.

btw- I think he stays.
