He does look unhappy there, but personally I hope he stays to make those wins over the tide all the more enjoyable.

The guy would lose what little credibility he has left if he took off for WVU after only one season.

I have to admit, it would be nice to see all the bammers break down. Classic.

Really and truly, he has no credibility. So he has nothing to lose. If it makes him happier, he may as well go home to West Virginia where competition is less and winning would come easier.

Really, West Virginia is a great job. I'm almost surprised Rodriguez left. Is it hard to recruit to WVU? Yes. But, Rodriguez was showing that you can get real top-flight talent there if you establish yourself.

It's a great job because the school wants to have a successful program. The student body is hungry for a successful program. They may not have the most money or a talent-rich state but truly... neither do a lot of the big Northern schools.

I realize that Saban is NOT going to leave Bama now ($), but honestly, it wouldn't be a bad idea. He would have full control at WVU and could be "the" coach. He'll never be "the" coach at Bama. No one but the Bear ever will be.

Hmph. Why the hell would anyone even want him anymore. After this season at Bama, the way he left Miami, and his overall reputation as a human, you would think his stock has fallen to low.

Maybe he was sitting at home in Tuscaloosa, reflecting on the mediocrity that is 'Bama, and started listening to a little John Denver and it made him a little homesick!
Almost heaven, west virginia
Blue ridge mountains, shenandoah river
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place, I be-long
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

All my memries, gather round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

Country roads, take me home
To the place, I be-long
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

I hear her voice, in the mornin hours she calls to me
The radio reminds me of my home far a-way
And drivin down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Country roads, take me home
To the place, I be-long
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
