You got Bower spouting off that he supports Johnson. The fans despise him. They're winless and it doesn't look like they will win this year. The Rock is half full or empty how you want to look at it. I hate to see somebody lose a job, but this one may need to be made.

They could bring Kap in to be HC, he was OL and recruiting coordinator. Has been OC at 2 schools and been college coaching since leaving SMS in 90-91.

We're in Louisiana. Southern means Southern. You are referring to USM. Cite them appropriately.

Yep, and I'd go after Kliff Kingsbury. You could probably get him cheap, and money is supposedly an issue at Southern Miss. He could rock his Wayfarer's, air that shite out non stop, and puts asses in the seats. Perfect for C-USA.

Kliff ain't leaving Hitler Youth Corp for that nuclear bomb site. That's suicide for a career.

Johnson may very well be the worst HC ever. No need to keep him around another year to figure out he truly is.

you have to fire him. Winless, no excuse a year after winning a title.

I don't know if you fire him you'll get the candidates you want though. Some no loyalty whispers might start. It seems logical to do so if NFL gig but not NCAA

I'm amazed at how awful Ellis Johnson is a head coach. He was a very good DC for many years. From 12-2 to 0-12? Wow.

The AD announced a few weeks ago that there would be no discussion about replacing Ellis after one season.

Which means there is a likely possibility that he could be replaced.

Wonder who they going to get to buyout him out.. Cause Southern Miss is very bad in the red in the AD dept.

I don't know, but I can't imagine they are doing well financially with no one in the stadium either.

I mean... wasn't this why Bower (who was actually successful) was canned?

This is a very good point. Obviously I don't have all the financials in front of me, but a successful football program is the best way to bring in some revenue to the Athletic Department. 0-12 won't help get out of the red. I don't know what it would cost for the buyout, but if it is possible to do it I would make the move now

Ever since they fired Bower I've hated them more than any team in the country. If seeing Southern go winless for the rest of time meant having to see Ohio State win the national title 5 years in a row, I would take that deal.

I am a season ticket holder and eagle club member, I left a half time during the Marshall game and haven't been back. ELLLLLLLLLLoss Johnson has to go

And Henry, Bower needed to go, unlike Cutcliffe at Ole Miss. My dad, an Ole Miss alum is still pissed about that.

As am I but we didn't force him out after a winning season like y'all did Bower.

I loved bower, but he lost his enthusiasm for the game, he figured 6 or 7 wins a year was enough. He made bad hires in coordinators and the recruiting was starting to suffer. If he had stayed He would have become like Nutt because of his complacency, and that he supports EJ should tell you a lot.

Btw I think freeze will take y'all places in a few years. Seems like a good hire for the rebs

USM would be a good 2- to 4-year rehab job for Nutt or Petrino. But, both of those guys probably think they can fry bigger fish.
