How long does Harbaugh make Michigan wait?

Seems like this could go on for a while. I am sure it is not helping with recruiting.

If 49ers lose this weekend to the Seahawks, they are out of the playoffs.

Michigan will wait as long as it takes for Harbaugh to make a decision.
This recruiting year is already awful so it's not going to get worse. As long as a decision is made before mid January there will be time to salvage something.

I think recruiting dead period starts Dec 15 and ends Jan 15...not sure

Clams, this is the first post I've read of yours that doesn't involve fantasy baseball or football.

We have 6 recruits I believe, 4-5 I firmly believe are committed to the program no matter what. Recruiting can wait a minute if it means we need to wait on Harbaugh, either way this class ain't going to be much.
Hell, our star running back recruit who is from a pipeline school decommitted during the middle of the Maryland game and just committed to tOSU anyway. If any Michigan fans hold out hope for a successful recruiting class this year they are just getting their hopes up, Harbaugh or not.

I dont think anyone is too worried about recruiting at the moment. Get the right guy now. Recruit later.

And with Ty Isaac, they dont really need a RB this year.

If they did get Harbaugh or Les, I bet they could flip some kids in January and shore up the class.

Exactly. Most upsetting part of it isn't the actual recruit we loss, just that it's from Cass Tech. Oh well, those kids are hit and miss anyway and I don't think it will affect the relationship U of M has with them.

Seems like if Harbaugh wasn't interested, he would have just said no.

The Harbaugh hold out also give Miles a little cover to possibly get closer to, or past a bowl game at end of month. So if option 1 falls through, option 2 (miles--as reports and everyone on this board proclaims) will have more cover.

he's just gotta consider UM vs. his other options and he'll do that once his team is out.

Coaches don't say no till they know what their options might be. Even if he is not in San Fran, that doesn't mean he will not be coaching for another pro team. If Mich. is waiting on Harbaugh, they well could have a 2-3 wk. longer wait after SF makes their call.
Who knows what happens, but I don't see JH taking a step down to college ball.

Michigan will wait for Harbaugh. Unfortunately for Michigan, Harbaugh doesn't control his destiny and Miles won't wait past this week. If they wait and Harbaugh "has to" stay in the NFL due to the 49ers controlling his rights, Michigan may end up with an "also ran" coach or giving the job to the next hot coordinator.
They need to fish or cut bait on Miles this week or Miles will pull his name off the table.

Jerry Rice said this morning on CBS radio that he believes Harbaugh is leaning towards UM.

There is nothing the 49ers could do to stop him from going to Michigan

he is under contract through next year. explain to me how he gets out of that. My understanding is that he is not a free agent and the 49ers can trade him just like a player. He can't just leave without a lawsuit from the 49ers.

Yes, he is under contract. Any trade would require his agreement though. If he doesn't agree to a trade, he will be fired.
So either he will agree to a trade to another NFL team or he will become a FA to pursue any job he wants, NFL or CFB.
