slowly contemplating raising hand... and I'm a huge Long fan..

Something people around the country don't get about the Hog fan base... You don't frick with our football program. We are a very passionate fan base.

its the equivalent of being turned down, which is what the OP said. damn you are either dense or want to keep your head in the sand to make you feel better.

My spin? I'm not spinning anything. I'm GUESSING. Maybe Miles wasn't offered. Maybe he was talked to but wasn't offered. Maybe he was never even talked to. Maybe just being talked to and him saying no constitutes being "turned down". I don't know. I really can't think of any way to make this more clear. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

Out of curiosity, who do you think we are going to get as our next head coach?

I would not be shocked at all if long makes a very underwhelming hire, but I find it hard to believe that people THAT close to Long would risk their jobs and relationship to leak info to get blabbed all over. Long would immediately know who the leaked info came from bc I DOUBT very many are that "close" to him.

very well could be. but thinking that arky hasnt been "turned down" by anyone yet, like boss hog dale asserted, is silly. if you had one of your top couple of choices there would already be a presser.

Time too "Settle"

SEC programs don't "settle"

Anyone hired is going to be qualified; of course qualifications don't equal success not lack of success doesn't mean a person settled.

My source says Miles was offered. And you cannot get any closer to Miles than my source. So, suck on it naysayers!

Did they? Or did they hire a guy who is qualified to coach Kentucky?

I mean let's face it, they are an SEC program by virtue of their basketball program, not their football .

If Auburn hires Smart, they settled.

Tennessee settled the previous two hires.

LSU settled with Miles.

Why these two people decided to talk about it I couldn't tell ya. It was talked about over a dinner among long-time friends so maybe they trusted their friends or maybe it was the wine talking.

Also this is known by more than you think. Many people within the foundation are aware of it, obviously Long's people are aware of it, the BOT and the people closely associated with it are aware of it. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't been talked about more up to this point.
