not even a coach. you have to figure it was already decided he was going to a&m. Les has shown before he doesn't like to throw his coaches under a bus. if he has to get rid of them, he's gentle.

Based on the past 2 weeks of ridiculously random names being thrown around, this means what exactly?

My vote is for using his buyout as leverage. Keep him around until after Signing Day so he cant poach any recruits. After that if he wants to go, he can go with no buyout. I'd rather him stay, but if he leaves this helps us the most.

it was a package deal - haley as DC and orgeron as dl coach. well, it was half right.

Haley just signed a new extention with large buyout clause. Miles is pushing for Haley to leave on his own terms.

I thought there would be a new coaching position available in the next few months (or whenever). Wouldn't it be plausible that Haley is just going to do admin work until that point that he can be reinstated as "recruiting coordinator" or whatever position/title they give him? It seems to me with the fact that all assistaints got signed before Chavis left, Les wanted to make a hire that would be cool with keeping the D coaching staff in tact. Steele apparently was on board. Possibly Haley is on board as well. Just like all the insiders and experts around here lately, this is all speculation.

Yes, the NCAA is supposed to be allowing a new defensive coach to be on staff, adding a new head. If this is the case soon, it's possible that Brick is staying on board to coach LB's or "co-coach" some position, etc.

this is what i was understanding about the hire. brick would move into an administrative role until the BOT approved the addition to the coaching staff, then he would move back down to being a coach.

Haley is the one that recommended Steele to Miles.

everybody keeps saying this but the aggy's are a coach short currently. so why hasn't haley gone already? he's under contract with us now (appearantly chavis didn't tell him shite either) and maybe that's the reason. but it seems he's odd man out but has a contract. miles may not let him go and I wouldn't blame him a bit. frick the maggies.
