Reasons for Texas:
1) Gus runs an offense that will work great in the Big 12.
2) They didn't get Saban but they can get a guy that beat Saban.
3) He's is a proven coach. Won SEC and made it to the NC game. Probably the reason AU won NC in 2010.

Reasons for Gus:
1) Was 3 plays from being 8-4 in the SEC but can probably go undefeated in the no-defense big 12.
2) Won't have to compete against Saban and the rest of the SEC for recruits
3) SEC defense's will figure out how to defend against that offense sooner or later and then Auburn will fire him like every other coach they've ever had.
4) They said Austin was nicer than T-town but you KNOW its nicer that Auburn.
5) MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. Texas will make Gus a very rich man. He can easily last longer there than facing Saban every day. 5 years in Austin and he and wife have $20M+ to enjoy the rest of their life. He gets figured out in the SEC and he's gone in 3.

If Texas can wait until after the NC game, then it's a very good possibility.

I'm sure you're hoping. But it's not happening.

FWIW, you can swap Spurrier in for Malzahn in almost all of those reasons and they still would make perfect sense.

Glittering generalities.

Bama fans are so scared! Don't you realize that starting these threads just magnifies your insecurity?

Don't think they would want to wait that long.

Saban is their next coach and it will be announced before Wednesday. They won't wait until after the NC game to announce their coach.

Saban now knows what Bama will pay him. If Texas puts 10M in his face, he's the next HC in Austin. Bama won't counter offer and he would to accept it if they did. Friday's events were a ploy by the Saban camp to force fhe hands of both schools.

Believe me after that BS in Auburn Nov 30 I want a revenge game in T-town next year more than you can imagine. So do ALL of my fellow alumni. I'm just being realistic. Texas is not going to get a Harbough or Gruden. Jimbo might go but he's been in Tallahassee for a long time now. His wife will not want to go to Austin and he seems like a real family guy.

Has a coach ever been named after the NC game? I mean Gus is better than Saban right now.

Its only a week after most of the other bowl games. And to get a shot at Jimbo or Gus it'd be worth it. Plus they can hit Sexton (or whoever their agent it) up under the table to feel them out to see if they're interested.

He is undefeated against Saban as a HC. If he leaves, it isn't because of Bama.
