Gary Crowton, the one-time offensive coordinator at LSU, has been hired at the same position at Southern Utah, The Deseret News reported.

Crowton was LSU's offensive coordinator from 2007-2010. He came to SUU, an FCS school, from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL, where he was fired as offensive coordinator mid-season.

Before that, he was offensive coordinator at Maryland.

He has just lost it. He's like a baseball player who forgot his swing.

coaching fraternity takes care of it's own and also i can see if you're an fcs coach the allure of getting a guy with big time SEC experience on staff, especially in the same role you're hiring him for.

Ohio State didn't know what hit them either. However, I remember there where times in the Arkansas game that year when I thought Crowton had lost his mind with the play calling.

Miles carried him!

Just kidding...the guy has been coaching a long time and has earned millions doing it.

Best of luck to the X Tiger!

Whatever edge he had, he lost it along time ago. I thought LSU would dominate with our athletes and his offense. I saw what he did at La Tech with no big time guys, and it was scary.

In hindsight it was a terrible hire as I believe Les never let him fully install his (BYU style) offensive system, and truthfully I didn't recognize any part of his system being installed here. I believe Les kept his style of offense (mich style run oriented) and expected Crowton to coach it that way.

At the same time, it looks as if Crowton lost his way somewhere along the line, but he really was an innovative offensive mind in the past.
