If we're talking B12 coaches, I'm just hoping that Arkansas doesn't get Briles or Gundy. I think either could kill it at Arkansas, and with minimal turnaround time.

I think Briles would be the best choice for Arky.

Athletic dept funds don't come from endowment funds, dummy.

And for the record, TCU has an endowment just north of $1 billion. Arkansas'endowment is right there around $1 billion, too.

TCU does have a significantly larger endowment than LSU, though. So does Arkansas.

The one place where funds from the endowment can find their way into the Ath. Dept is the scholarships. Many of the scholly's on athletic teams are sold to donors as an endowed scholarship, that when they donate $50K to the foundation the proceeds off the interest go to the ath. dept. to fund a WR, or a OL, or a Frosh. scholly.

I would have never thought Arkansas would lure Petrino away from the Falcons.

He was out the door anyway, just made it easier for him, they didn't "lure" him.

name one team in the last ten years that's won an NC that hasn't been in a fertile recruiting ground....(OSU, LSU, USC, Texas, UF, LSU, UF, Bama, Auburn, Bama)
You MIGHT get one this year in KSU or Oregon.

So you're saying demographics have an impact towards success? Shocker. Trickle that on down the LSU superiority trail.

Are you saying that they don't? Kids have always wanted to play for the home town school or at least close enough to home for their family to see them play. (there are a few exceptions of course)

Today, there are more programs with the facilities to match the juggernauts who used to rule CFB (ND, OU, UT, Mich, OSU, USC)
Programs like LSU, UF, FSU, Auburn, Bama, etc can offer these athletes everything that those other schools can + the ability to stay close to mama.

You saying that demographics and recruiting grounds don't play a HUGE factor in being successful nowadays is beyond absurd.

Rewind 12 months...now think about your statement and how fricking ridiculous it might sound.

Ebb & Flow.

History.

1 year outlier. Etc, etc, etc.

amazing what can happen in a year, i'd agree. unfortunately for you, they have a good, new coach, a young team, and lots of momentum. arky lost their good coach, and have quitters on the team, per your QB. on top of that, you have a big time hire to make and until proven otherwise, hog nation will be looking up at aggy for the foreseeable future. condolences

What happens to that NFL offensive line next year?
Is it impossible for Arkansas to hire a GREAT new coach while having an even YOUNGER team, thereby gaining momentum?

Go look at history. Arkansas has to trend downwards for a long fricking time before they will ever be looking UP at A&M.

of course not.

you'd have momentum, and in theory, be 1 year behind them in progress
