Not a big shock, considering he was Sark's guy, but USC's incumbent DC Clancy Pendergast fielded a top 20 defense in the midst of heavy sanctions.

Boise State DC Pete Kwiatkowski is going to UW to be the DC there.

Didn't he coach with Peterson at Boise before he went to Tenn and ultimately UW?

He did indeed, but Peterson has Kwiatkowski packing for Seattle. Also, in an interesting development, the sudden "retirement" of Oregon DC Nick Aliotti means the Ducks are now interested in Wilcox too.

Oregon bigwigs have figured out they need a real defense and so they kindly offered their long term DC a severance package and a graceful exit.
