ESPN's Robert Smith says the top hire in CFB is Butch Jones!

Very interesting I believe that Jones and Bielema are the two best hires.

Robert Smith of ESPN's "College Football Live" called Tennessee's hiring of Butch Jones the best in college football in the 2012 offseason. Here's what Smith had to say on the show on Tuesday.

"My top hire this offseason is Butch Jones at Tennessee. From the bottom up, he's really going to be helpful at Tennessee, a school that hasn't seen any type of stability over the last five years. I think they made the right choice in Butch Jones. I had an opportunity to sit down with him when he was at Central Michigan and when he was at Cincinnati. He knows how to build from the foundation of a program. Everything from the way a kid goes to class, to the way they carry themselves, to the pride they have in their school. It's not like Tennessee hasn't had a dearth of talent. They just haven't had the right people to get the talent doing the things they are supposed to do. I think Butch Jones is going to do a great job with that. Obviously, playing the SEC, it's difficult to jump in and make a change right away. I think it's going to take a couple of years, but I think he's the type of guy that will get that place turned around. He's the right person to get Tennessee going the right way."

He can't be that good, he hired Willie Martinez.

i'm inclined to think that Tennessee made the worst hire, just because that toolbag said it was the best.

Dude, he followed Kelly, twice. Not saying he's a bad hire, but we have no clue how he is at building a program.

Unless they got Gruden, they were going to be mad no matter who got hired. Then Tee Martin turns them down for the WR job, and it's a big deal too.

Butch Jones was one of the best coaches available and he wanted the job. I think he was a good hire, they dont have to have Gruden and Tee to win.

And Malzahn's resume isn't even as good as Butch's.

Malzahn is the biggest gamble of all the hires.
