Did Fla or Nebraska consider any minority candidates?

I know there's not a NFL Rooney Rule in place but I thought colleges were at least interviewing minority candidates even if it was just a token interview process.

That's awfully quick hires for both programs, makes you wonder when they started contacting agents, probably back in October

It doesn't make any difference as long as they hired the best possible coach for their program, regardless of skin color. The Rooney Rule is stupid.

It had it's place back when it started but it's way outdated in today's game.

Tyrone Willingham
Turner Gill
Derek Mason
Mike Haywood
Randy Shannon

Failed as head coaches. There's a reason the rooney rule should stay out of college ball.

The Rooney Rule is condescending. It tells black coaches "We don't think you're good enough on your own merit. Therefore we're going to force you and teams to conduct sham interviews just for the sake of political correctness and warm/fuzzy feelings."

The NFL is a results only business. Teams would hire a pre-op transgender man with tits and a mustache if it would guarantee them multiple super bowl championships. The league is comprised primarily of black players. At some point in the not too distant future those guys are going to make up a large portion of the prospective HC pool. This would have happened without the Rooney Rule.

Exactly. When do we require teams to try out white tailbacks, receivers, and defensiv backs?
