What a shitty fricking hire. At least it seals Mile's fate. Its like this clown is doing everything he can to get fired. We can only hope Alleva pulls the trigger.

4 seasons as a defensive coordinator and he was fired from both jobs. In his biggest game as a DC, with weeks to prepare, his defense gives up 70 points in the Orange Bowl. THIS is the best Miles can do? So ready for this guy to move on.

I guess fired at Clemson = hired at LSU. Damn. The guy is a great recruiter, but clueless on running a modern defense. Talent was not an issue at LSU. This is the last thing they need.

Here's a melt I have been saving for a moment like this....

Les you could have scooped up two turds out of Mike the Tigers cage rubbed them on your face and as and made sandcastles with the shot residue then took a dump on the side of the road and smeared it together in the form of gumby and then hired the shitty gumby as DC and come out better than Kevin the nutcase nutsack steele. I DONE....WHERE IS THE TYLENOL

You can usually gauge how good a hire is by the reaction of the fans from the team losing the coach.

I've yet to see any Bama fans upset about losing Kevin Steele.

When the Kirby Smart stuff was going around, most Bama fans were okay with losing Kirby AS LONG AS Steele didn't get promoted to the vacated DC position.

This hire definitely falls in last place when comparing the DC hires made by other SECW teams, Muschamp, Chavis, and Diaz.

on a message board before any football games are actually played? you are 100% correct. i'm not overwhelmed with the hire by any stretch but at this point the hire is done and the results on the field next year are all that matter for all coaches listed. he has little to no excuses next year. he has the talent on defense and a ball control offense so if he is terrible we'll know pretty damn quick.

Using your logic Chavis to Texas A&M was the worst fricking hire in the past decade.

the last thing we need is Miles having input in the offense.

No. recruiting is not what it once was and needs to get better. It's very good, but can be better. A lot of people thought the Kiffen/Saban thing wouldn't work out, but it did. The jury is still out on Steele.

Our defense will bring lots of pressure under Steele. All these easily influenced bafoons on here acting like one game defines his career. What about 2 top20 defenses before that game. His edge pressure is perfect against the spread!

He has landed:

New #LSU DC Kevin Steele just landed at BR airport: "It's a very, very exciting time. This is a special place."

Steele loads belongings into SUV after landing. "This is a special place, and everybody in football knows that." #LSU

Kevin Steele declined to answer any more questions after departing the plane. Presser Wednesday at #LSU.

I fricking knew it!!!!

There was no way that Les and Alleva are competent enough to make a good hire!!!

Good to know da mad quitter is on his way out in the next couple years..

if it's freaking steele, couldn't this have been done weeks ago.

First we had to try to get all the people that eventually turned Les down.

Come on, Sentrius. I enjoy your posts. Why laugh at the potential shite storm on the horizon? You really want LSU to lose 5-6 games again at the chance Les leaves?

If you can't see this is the worst case hire we could've made, I don't know what to tell you.

It's clear that either Alleva is goung cheap or Les just wants a yes man. If I were Cam Cameron, I would be getting the frick out of BR while I still have somewhat of a reputation.

A yes man? What would he be saying yes to? Miles has nothing to do with the D. You don't make any sense.
