Brown had previously confided in those close to him that he was resigning, the source said. However, Brown was "enraged" when the news leaked to the media, and he decided to change course, according to the source.

Mack Brown is an idiot if he changed his mind because of that. UT should grow a pair and fire the clown.

UT should man up and fire him bc no one is excited he's staying. Mack seems like the type that'll never willingly go, no matter what. He wants to leave like Paterno.

The schism between the posi-Horns and the nega-Horns is probably something to behold right now.

Does Mack have a lot of regular fans who are still in favor of him staying or just some well placed administrative support?

I said it when it broke. Too early and it'll blow up. Just like I believe Miles to Michigan was real, but when Herbie broke it, it ruined the move.

This will not end well for UT or Brown - if it holds true.

Hahaha...if true and Texas fans think that Brown refusing to go quietly is the reason they didn't get Nick Saban, that dude will face vitriol at a level rarely ever seen. I would not want to be Mack Brown coaching Texas next year if any of this stuff is true.

Yea, you guys keep believing everything that's tweeted with a source. It's all proven to be on the money so far.

I thought ESPN would be reputable enough for Bama fans

I am not seeing any posi-horns on their boards. The fans are mad as he'll.

the question is why are they allowing him to change course?

Herbstreet is still trying to regain some credibility for the Miles to Michigan flop.

Yeah, you're more likely to find a unicorn than a posihorn.

That's my perception but I can't say I feel like I have my finger on the pulse of the Longhorn nation.

It is funny that a fanbase that lives on the "we're better than you" philosophy has to stomach being ignored by the administration of their school

Mack seems to have lost most of the fanbase last year...and this year did nothing to help. If you looked at Shaggybevo before it went down, there weren't negabevo/posibevo factions. It all seemed to be negamack. The UT folks I know personally all thought it was time for Mack to "retire gracefully". No one seems to be happy at the prospect of him staying, and the melt is indeed *much* greater over that prospect than loosing out on Saban.

heard that exact quote on ESPN the Radio just now.

If he actually stays this next year is going to be a nightmare for Mack. But it'll be entertaining if nothing else.
