He would almost guarantee Jimbo Fisher would take the LSU job. Said this would be Miles last chance to take the job, but ultimately thought he would stay put.

ETA: No link, midday radio show in Nashville.

Honest Question? How would Gall know? Is he that close to Jimbo?

Wouldn't be mad but will never happen. Was already sunbed once by LSU.

Honestly, I have no clue. Just know he does college football for a living, with a reputable mag/website.

If that's true, I think the Tiger Athletic Foundation would be willing to pay Miles' Michigan salary... Not that they dislike Miles... But an upgrade with a coach who can recruit, coach offense, develop QB's, and speak in complete sentences at a time when Miles appears to have at the very least leveled off, might be too much to resist... This from a Miles backer. But Jimbo? Why would he leave FSU??? Makes no sense.

Can someone clue me in why Jimbo would leave FSU for LSU? I honestly have no clue about any ties or desires of his.

maybe he'll leave with Jameis? Doesn't see any promise without him? Don't know too much about the future over there. Anyone?

Jimbo just feels like a dirty coach w all the Jameis stuff. Appears program is a bit out of whack

LINK

Notice who is one and who is four. Also, Florida, Miami, and every SEC team in your recruiting base, or top dog at LSU in Louisiana with access to Florida and Texas. He might see it as an advantage, I guess.

Is he loving the admin right now? Got to imagine he has been catching a little heat as of late. Easier recruiting. Those are the only two reasons I can come up with. The first one is the only real reason he would come here because the recruiting hasn't been an issue for him.

Jimbo would not make a lateral move from FSU to LSU. Makes no sense. He's in a brilliant position at FSU. Recruit well and play a crappy schedule in a state that is down (UF/Miami). Easy road to the playoffs.

Why would he want to play LSU's schedule when he can play FSU's and go undefeated?

For all the these questions, I have no clue and don't shoot the messenger.

If I had to give an answer, there seems to be a lot of off-field problems with FSU. Maybe Jimbo is tired of defending the players and messing with that stuff? Also, losing his Heisman QB. Just spitballing here.

Why would Fisher take the job if Miles did leave for Michigan?

Let's look at the job he has now.

FSU is one of the high profile schools in the US, they have a storied football program thanks to Bowden, they recruit in one of the most fertile football states in the US, they are the strongest team in one of the Power 5 conferences, they will probably play for an ACC title just about every year which pretty much puts them in the hunt for a NC title every year, there are no Sabans in the conference that he is compared to each and every week, and he is one of the top paid coaches in the country, he is not from Louisiana nor is LSU his alma-mater.

So yep that makes obvious sense, Fisher to LSU wish I would have thought of this before Gall did.

Gall - What a fricking idiot!!!

I've heard on ATL radio that he and the FSU brass aren't exactly BFFs. Who really knows tho

The only plausible explanation for why Fisher would entertain this idea would be a rift with the FSU administration. I love LSU as much as anybody but this would be a lateral move at best for Fisher with the current state of the SEC as a football conference and the ACC with Florida State. The current situation for Fisher in Tallahassee is perhaps one of the top 2-3 in the entire country with his access to talent, lack of in conference competition other than Clemson or Georgia Tech, the relative struggles at Miami and Florida, etc.
