Is he just using this as leverage to get a bigger contract from Bama?

I sure hope so. He has done a fantastic job as both a position coach and a recruiter. I am pretty sure he is one of the lowest paid members of the coaching staff. I hope Bama tops whatever FSU may be offering.

I just can't see why he'd want to leave Bama for FSU. He's making 300k and is doing a phenomenal job. There's also no way we can outbid Bama for an assistant coach.

Yes. He'll want to stay away from that dumpster fire.

I think the interest is about more than money. He wants a reduced road workload (constantly out recruiting and wants more time at home with family). Any offer will be matched or topped financially. My concern is whether or not Saban is willing to give one of his better recruiters less road time.

Hope he stays. not a certainty yet, though.

Maybe, I should have rephrased that, although FSU's income is not the greatest.

Is FSU willing to pay that much? They dont really pay that great, as I recall

UT is basically paying Sunseri's salary until 2015 and Pruitt will be making around ~600k. We do have the money to snag Burns, but if Bama counters, I don't think we'll try to beat that number.

Just saw the update. Figured so. The move didn't make much sense.

Looks like we offered a substantial raise and Bama may have matched.

According to BOL, he has turned down Florida State's offer and will remain at Alabama. Next year is expected to be his last.

If next year is expected to be his last anyway then wouldn't it have made more sense to let him go and grab his replacement? He's the main LA recruiter and we have some big fish we're trying to snag. It's tough to get those kids if their recruiter/position coach won't be there
