Some boosters love him. Ed Richardson and Larry Flynt are disappoint.

Screw you, old man. Maybe that is what the football program should be about.

Not a flame, but Saban's presence and success raises the level of difficulty in finding the "right guy" at Auburn. I'm not familiar at all with their "good ole boy" networkings, but I'm certain this is a difficult fit to factor in as well.

Could be a long search.

They shouldn't be. He is their best chance IMO after ditching the one guy they had that could potentially compete with Nick (TT).

And by "right guy", you mean someone who isn't a scared pussy. That's who I'd hope would take the job as well.

The righteousness from some AU fans is hilarious. They have had the dirtiest staff in the country under chiz.

From a Hog fans prospective... BP is as good of a playcaller as there is in the game. He can recruit well on offense but I feel he neglected defesive needs in favor of a crapload of WR's and TE's every year. Morally he may have issues but the man can coach.......

In my 40+ yrs watcing Auburn football, I would say its exactly what Auburn football is about... wtf?

Isn't the elephant in the room with Petrino that saban has beaten him like a rented mule while he was at Arkansas? Petrino would no doubt raise Awburn's win total, but I'm skeptical he can go toe to toe with the nicktator

I think if everyone pulled in the right direction, Petrino could be a major success here... I'm not convinced that's going to happen, though.

I'm of the opinion that if we don't hire Petrino, it better be someone who's a proven winner (Gary Patterson).

Hello Cam Newton...

Ignoring the ridiculous Cam Newton concept that proves you don't know what you're talking about,

Firing Gene Chizik said that, in the end, it all comes down to winning football games. You can spew as much "God thing", "Family" bullshite as you want, but it won't matter a lick if that "family" isn't beating the snot out of some other coach's "family" on the football field. That's the ultimate goal of our football program. It isn't to turn "boys into men" - that's on the parents and should've been set in place before any of those players stepped on campus.

I think it showed more than anything that even Auburn knows Chizik wasn't responsible for the national championship.

If it wasn't about winning very few coaches would ever be fired.... Petrino being an obvious exception.

Let's not forget he wasn't fired for cheating on his wife, he was fired for lying to his boss about it.

Why cant Auburn fans just admit that yall paid him and got away with it? No one cares anymore. We paid Julio and Trent. They arent coming for your trophy.

Did he get paid while he was at Auburn? I'm 100% sure of it.

But there's no way in hell that we gave $200,000 to a guy who a) had to have assistant coaches convince the head coach to sign him, and b) showed no prior evidence of being able to handle a starting QB job in the SEC.

I think you are being a bit naive on that one. At least you are willing to admit your program isn't lilly white like most of your brethren.
