Any other LSU fans think Saban to Texas is not a good thing for LSU?

He will still poach recruits out of our backyard and Alabama will still be a very strong program.

It could be like having to compete with two Sabans, not just the one in Alabama.

Like wise man say, be careful what you wish for.

Kids wouldn't go to Alabama if he wasn't there, IMO.

They go where Saban is at. Not because of the hillbilly, kill the kicker fanbase/program.

He does that now! Pretty much gets almost every player he wants from La especially North La. where the distance from there to Tuscaloosa is about the same to BR.

I feel the same. He will get most of the Texas high school players. Plus some Louisiana players.

It would be somewhat of a trade off. Bama would slowly stop getting top notch LA kids, but then we may not be able to get so many studs from Texas like we do now.

However, above all, I just wanna see the gump fans melt.

....and yes, kids from Louisiana would go to Texas. Nothing would change except the colors. At the same time, I think Saban would have who he wants in Texas and have way more in-state recruits than he does in Alabama. So spots on that squad for OOS recruits would decrease.

he'll still poach recruits but we won't have to play them every year.

I don't think any other potential Alabama coach could have as much success with Louisiana recruits... not out of the gates, at least.

Texas recruits Texas first and foremost. They have far more recruits to choose from than the state of Alabama. These LA kids arent going to bama to be at bama, they were going to be a part of Saban's program. So with Saban at Texas, they could still choose to do that - but they wouldnt be playing in the SEC which is obviously a plus (look at A&Ms recruiting since moving to the SEC).

Yeah, I don't really care about any of this. Saban is going to be Saban and he's going to get who he wants. I've accepted that unlike most LSU fans.

But the meltdown amongst gumps, if this happens, will be the sweetest thing I will ever see on the internet. May even rival porn.

We don't play or compete with UT annually

@ you if you think Alabama is going to continue to land #1 class after #1 class if Saban left.

This is moot

playing devils advocate though LSU would be in the worst position because he'd still recruit La and lock down Tx

I'd think it wouldn't be good for A&M but look at success auburn has had here and there with saban at bama.

Not necessarily. The quantity of recruits in Texas far outnumbers the quantity in Alabama.

We'd get killed in recruiting, especially in-state.

He would be in playoff every year at Texas in watered down Big 12 as opposed to his annual one year SEC west loss.

They can't get every Texas recruit.

Plus, we wouldn't have to play him every year.

So I'm ok with him going to UT.
