No. It would be through a publishing company. I'm in the process of putting together a proposal, where I show my plans, provide stores that would be interested in selling the book (local hardware stores, pharmacies, gift stores, etc.)

Very small print runs. It's not a money making venture by any means.

I've written a novel (and its sequel), am submitting to agents and publishers...

Have been published (articles) in magazines and on-line media

There is some great LSU lore and some untold history that LSU would be very interested in...

Along these same lines, I've written a couple of industry-specific ones. They are nothing major, and were only mimimally profitable. My wife has published several in the psychological field. They did better than mine, and have a modest amount of royalties come in every month.

Ah ok. Sometimes they go over that, maybe you can send them an excerpt that stands alone.

Almost the exact same, except I am perpetually writing a couple of novels.

Also have some film criticism published around, mostly college paper stuff for the couple of institutions I was at.

The author of this book is a TD member, mostly on the Rant.
It's not me, but he's a good friend.

When I finished my first book, I submitted queries to 26 agents and only one expressed any interest, and even she rejected it after I submitted additional chapters. I used CreateSpace by Amazon to self publish. It was easy and cost nothing. I published it both as a Kindle and paperback. The final product is listed on Amazon - I've sold a few thousand copies of the three books, but I'm certainly not getting rich off the royalties.

That's cool. The whole querying process seems more difficult to me than writing the damn book.

I'm working on getting some short stories published. But I really don't know where to start. I've written primarily dark horror/suspense.

A character in the first book is good friends and eventually an unindicted/unidentified co-conspiritor with Billy Cannon in the counterfeiting scheme, as an example
