The Freys and Boltons are definitely screwed but I didn't include them in the list because they're not one of the major houses, even though Tywin made Roose the Warden of the North and the Freys to run the Riverlands; neither deal will be permanent.

quote:

Now that Sansa sees Baelish for what he is and is starting to see how unfair the world is, I see Tyrion actually rescuing her and their marriage continuing with children.

Not sure how I feel about Sansa and Tyrion staying together/conflicted about it. On one hand, I could see them deciding to stay married, consummate it and have children; on the the other hand, I feel like they'd mutually agree to annul their marriage.

I definitely consider Rickon and Trystane to be the ones to continue the Stark and Martell lines and that is their main significance for being in the series.

I could see Roslin's son living and inheriting Riverrun, but I'm not sure about Edmure surviving. Could go either way. Hence the reason why I included the Tully's in my list of possibly going extinct, although they probably won't; the Starks, Martells, and Tyrells for instance have a lot more live folk hanging around than the Tully's.

I think the Greyjoy most likely to live is Asha. Asha doesn't seem like the type to settle down and resume a traditional Westeros female role but if she wants the line to live then she needs to marry a man, have him somehow take the Greyjoy last name, and have children. Otherwise, they're done.

I think Tyrells stick around mainly because there's so many of them.

Arryns are definitely done and I don't even know if Sweetrobin could have the strength or 'vitality' to produce heirs.

Baratheons are dunzo unless one of Robert's bastards is legitimized, but I'm not sure if that will happen.

I think it depends on who gets to them first. If it's UnCat, none of them, women and children included, survive. She'll kill them all. While Littlefinger isn't above killing women and children (see pushing Lysa out the Moon door, slowly poisoning Robin) he knows if he does he'll be looked at as a monster and image is everything to him.

I don't think Littlefinger would show much more mercy than Stoneheart would. If he invades the Twins, then really it would just be his version of the Rains of Castamere.

Mark Gatiss from Sherlock is playing Tycho Nestoriss per the Petyr Baelish FB page.

Referring back to what we discussed a few pages ago, I was watching this scene from season 2 after reading the "Edd fetch me a block" chapter and I can't wait for that scene in season 5. I completely didn't realize this when I was watched season 2 as a Hodor but Janos tells Tyrion "My friends at court won't allow this!...I have powerful friends at court!!11!!" Mimics what he tells Jon and then Tyrion says "To the new commander," which could imply either/or/both the new City Watch commander or Jon as the future LC who will kill Janos . Makes me confident that David and Dan were using this scene to show us bookworms that we will get our Janos ADWD scene in season 5 .

Tyrion sends Janos Slynt to the Wall

I could be completely wrong, but I think the odds of that happening are low since Edric was omitted from the show.

Not really omitted, just combined with Gendry. And the showrunners have already killed off a guy in season one that Martin told them would appear in book 6, so I wouldn't really take what they do as always being 100% to the books, particularly when it comes to minor characters.

I think it's possible for Gendry to be legitimized, but I don't see them introducing Edric this late in the game. I think it's still unclear what the end game with Robert's remaining, living bastards (Mya, Gendry, Edric in books) is and it should be interesting to see what happens. What I think could happen with Gendry is that he probably won't be in season 4 unless they move up the Brienne Biter story to season 4.

He would find a way to kill them all, but keep his hands clean of any of the blame.

No problem .

But I think it's important to keep y'all updated on the casting news lol. Plus I can't wait 6.5 months longer....it's driving me crazy .

ETA: are you doing the Nola Restaurant week glass? I made reservations for Cafe Adelaide because Commander's was already booked.

Nah, they definitely won't. I was just saying as far as the books go Edric or Gendry could wind up as Baratheon heirs.

Welcome to the pain of waiting for this series to be finished. Just be glad you haven't been reading it since the late 90s.

When ever someone would talk about Ramsay's bitches, did anybody else read it in the Pimpbot 5,000 voice? Then immediately yell out every one of his threat as "I will cut you!"

I was looking for something else on WoI&F and came across this tidbit:

quote:

Following Beric Dondarrion's final death, Edric (Dayne) and a part of Beric's band go their separate way from those who chose to follow the resurrected, vengeful Lady Stoneheart. He has not appeared in the series since, his current whereabouts unclear.

Is this from the actual text? From the Storm epilogue maybe?

I would expect him to be headed to Starfall but maybe he finds Aegon and Arianne at Storm's End? Or maybe passes through Oldtown?

We still don't know the criteria for Lord of the Morning but I'm expecting Edric to claim the title and sword in the next book.

Darkstar won't like it but he's "of the night". Edric's fighting for R'hllor as seen through the eyes of the Brotherhood.

I doubt he lets Theon get out again. IMO, we'll see those dogs hunting Rickon or something.

I hope Rickon gets some screen time next season. It would sort of spoilerize the books but hopefully Martin can use the show as an info dump to streamline his own process.

In any event, Rickon's coming back as the fricking Beastmaster. Its never occurred to me before, but I really want Ramsey to get brutalized by the little kid.
