Heres's a train of thought: Who, if anyone, goes over to the side of the Others? We know from Craster that they can and will reach some type of an accord with humans.

My guess is that if anyone goes that route, the best candidate is Ramsey. Maybe even Roose if things are going against him really badly and his back is against the wall (so to speak).

Oh, and since the North just seems to be so darn Scottish, how great would it be if we saw some Schiltron fighting formations. If they did that and did it right, I'd be one happy viewer:

it's a good question but i need to know more about the Others' motivation before making any decent guesses. at first i thought the CoTF, Bran's crew, Jon and the rest of the Northmen would join up against the Andal/Targ/Essos newcomers. the biggest hitch in that plan is the ward over the Greenseer's cave that keeps out Others/wights. i'd still like to see it though. zombies always get a bad rap

I bet they're gonna be extra pissed about the whole AA/Lightbringer thing. Theyve had like 6000 years to think about it. Perhaps they are more well prepared this time and wont be caught off guard again.

The discussion about guest right in the episode thread got me thinking. In googling it I came across a pretty interesting discussion on one of the other boards about who would and who wouldn't be considered to have violated guest rights in the books. (Not in terms of whether they were known to have done it - more in terms of any retribution from the gods or karma or GRRM).

Most seem to think that Jamie and the Queen of Thorns have violated Guest Rights.

Any thoughts?

Somewhere in this mug, I swore someone made an argument for Tommen as the VQ...maybe it was in an old ASoIaF thread last year...

Anyone remember it/ have heard this theory or it's support? There was something about it that peaked my interest bigtime, but I can't place it...had something to do with Myrcella (and her whole Dornish Operation ) maybe...

Only problem with Tommen is that the prophecy says she will outlive all her children

Unless he mortally wounds her while in the process of dying himself. He dies first, she quickly follows.

Yeah I did...I'll link the old post, but it involved him coming back as a wight, nothing to do with Marcella

Totally agree. I come straight to this thread when I get online in the morning.

So what does everyone think about Quaithe and her intentions? So far she's been the most accurate with prophecies and has only given Dany good advice, but doesn't seem to want anything in return. She just seems a little too good to be true.

She is called a Shadowbinder and is from Asshai, so naturally I think of R'hollor, but she hasn't said word one about the red god or shown any abilities of a Red Priest/ess (though they present a new power nearly every time we see one).

Damn this thread. I need to be studying right now.

Using the show as context, it's seems magic is strong in those of the Red God faith - even those without actual "faith". What up widdat? Is it actually R'hllor, a supernatural god/entity that really exists, passing on this gift? or is it just another manifestation of magic's return (obsidian candles, etc) with the dragons? Or is some secret sorcerer society behind it, creating or bolstering a religion that would tempt a shitload of converts via these "miracles"?

Is Qaithe hiding her blue lips behind the mask? or is she someone hiding her real ID, as she's too hot not to be recognized ?

Off topic -but was thinking about the whole Dormish Operation (why that cracks me up I dunno) prince Oberon sure knew a lot about what the sand snakes were up to...I was trying to connect him / draw a parallel to Varys somehow...little birds...then I thought about the children in the fountains he's so fond of watching...he's gotta have spies everywhere.

Maybe he's just an old pedo perve, his operation is kiddie porn.
