Where is this from again?

It's one of Quaithe's conversations with Dany.

Great breakdown of that prophecy, but who said that to her? It doesn't really say in that link. What chapter is it from?

1) How is it that white walkers were able to get south of the wall but cold hands couldnt?
i thought the wall stopped all magic (others-style) magic from passing through
Is it because the dead nightswatchmen were brought south of the wall before reanimating as walkers?
When did the White walkers get south of the wall?
The wights (zombies) were brought through the wall by the Nights Watch.
Wights =/= White Walkers

I always thought the wights and white walkers were the same and, controlled by the others.
I assume he meant the wight that attacked old Jeor Mormont. The nights watch did bring them through after Snow found that hand when Jon and Sam were saying their vows before the weirwood tree.

this is what i meant
ok
so that leads me to my other question
if the others (aka white walkers) and their zombie wights cant get south of the wall, isnt the biggest threat to the realm The Horn of Joramun?
because that is the only thing that can take down the wall
Otherwise the Others would just be chilling at the base of the wall begging people to bring them through.

The dark flame could also be Archmaester Marwyn from the last Sam chapter in AFFC, who is also traveling to Dany. He had an obsidian candle that burned bright, aka a dark flame.

Here is something that could work...
White walkers are the Other God of the Red God
AA and Red Priests are the scale or balancers
Targs/Blackfyre are the fire for the Red God.
Jon is a Targ and is the balancing act of the war between the Red God and the Other.
The Other is in favor right now and Jon will become AA to fuel the Targ/Blackfyre reign of the Red God.
I believe something like this is the main portion of the entire war.
The comet could have been a warning to the Red Priests that the Other God has awoken and released the magic of the Dragons.
Also since Bloodraven was a Targ loyalist, it would make since he sided with the COTF to fight off the White Walkers/Other God

Disclaimer: I still think that Jon might end up leading the not-as-bad-as-we've-been-shown Others in a war to take back Westeros for the Children of the Forest

if the others are in cahoots with the children of the forest, why would they attack cold hands, bran, reeds when they were trying to meet up with the greenseer and the children of the forest in the cave?
and why would the cave have to keep out the others?

and i think they're pretty bad
they kill everyone they come across except for a incestual rapist because he is trading them infants in return
and in the very first chapter of the whole story the POV talks about how they're laughing when they all kill the guy

i didn't say it was a sound theory

Don't forget about the spiders the size of dogs showing up.
We haven't seen them yet.

I still think it is a perspective thing. Perhaps the Others were created by the COTF who happen to dislike the Andals. They aren't necessarily bad, they are just on a different side of the war.
