Ramsay is the product of rape between Roose Bolton and a miller's wife. While hunting, Roose saw the miller's wife and decided to illicitly practice the banned tradition of the 'First Night,' wherein a lord had the right to bed the commoner's bride. He hanged the miller under a tree (for not informing his Lord of the new marriage) and raped the man's bride beneath his swaying body. A year later the woman arrived at the Dreadfort with the newborn Ramsay. Roose nearly killed her and the babe, but when he saw the child had his eyes, the taboo of kinslaying stayed his hand.

Sometimes it's kind of scary how in tune I am with this thread. Last night there was brief mention of one of the Greyjoys and it got me thinking of Euron and theories about him. I looked on Wiki OI&F and went through all of the Euron/Faceless man deal to kill Balon stuff. And I come here and see a discussion mirroring what I was thinking was hashed out thoroughly on here this morning.
(Though I was really thinking of a more crackpot theory about Euron's eye patch and whether it might actually be hiding something other than a missing eye. Like maybe one Targ colored eye. Or two eyes, making him a "3 eyed" something or other). Kind of far fetched though.
I gotta say though, the Mance/Dayne connection never occurred to me and I kind of doubt that one.

I don't believe Arthur Dayne = Mance. However,
This isn't the reason. From chapter 39 in GoT
So I guess if Ned could forget what he looked like, anyone could. My biggest complaint about Dayne being Mance is Ned's recollection of what happened would be purposefully deceiving us. And I don't believe Ned would do that to us

If Mance really were Arthur Dayne, there are a number of people who could have recognized him: Ned Stark;

Ned had known their faces as well as he knew his own once, but the years leech at a man's memories, even those he has vowed never to forget. In the dream they were only shadows, grey wraiths on horses made of mist.

that's how he described the man he was fighting with I'm pretty sure the next couple senses go to show that he didn't forget the faces of of the three he was fighting against

This also matches with what Alfie has said about Jon being in a Luke Skywalker situation. Jon being Luke and Mance being Darth Vader... Jon is trying to turn Mance to the "light side" after Mance tried to turn Jon to the "dark side."
Mance Rader = Darth Vader

Yeah I forgot that his recollection is within his own head, not him telling anyone else. So I have no idea why he would lie to himself about it.

You're right. I reread it. He's talking about the six guys riding with him. I'm dumb.

Yes. The faceless man in the Citadel has one of the dragon eggs/balls, the other 6 are scattered throughout Essos and Valyria.
Once all 7 eggs are brought together, Euron's dragonhorn can be blown, awakening the eternal dragon which, like the eggs, have been turned to stone. The eternal dragon will rise from Dragonstone and serve its master (the blower of the horn).
To reward its master for awakening him, he will grant its master one wish before returning to stone and the eggs being scattered once again.
