Against my better judgement, I watched the entire roundtable.I normally don't like to see actors/actresses out of character because they are so clueless and basically boring. In the roundtable, this again was true. These people have special talents to memorize lines, project characters not their own( a major talent), but one must realize that the directors and production staff are the real geniuses not the actors. It was disappointing to hear that only one had read the books, the rest just do what they are told to do by the directors and script writers and arrive on location without as much as reading the script at times.Still, they are fascinating people until they open their mouths off screen.

You have to think though, that in order to get genuine emotion/reaction to things that happen they may not want to read the books so that they're going off the cuff. If you think about it, it's not much different then crews not telling actors/actresses the fate of their character when something goes down.

I'm thinking I read somewhere that Alfie Allen (Theon) has read the books. I could be wrong though.

Alfie wasn't there so I don't know.

Regarding genuine emotion etc, you may well be correct, especially since they are aware the show is deviating from the books. It just seemed strange to me(with no talent for anything whatsoever)that they wouldn't want to peek into the future of their role.

Jaime said his mom read the books and talks about them with him.

Everyone add Peter Baelish "Littlefinger" on FB. Some great behind the scenes pics, such as

Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Snow) and Stephen Dillane (Stannis Baratheon).

So i dont know why they still have him as Boy.

One other thing. GRRM came across as getting somewhat concerned about his pace of writing and the possibility of the show catching up with him. I got the distinct impression we will not see a new book this year.I'm also not that sure that HBO is going to shell out the money for a total of 7 books/6 more seasons plus or minus.I fear we will end up with a consolidated show closer season sooner rather than later.

I'm more than sure HBO protected themselves from chubbles not finishing the books. I think I've read that he gave them the outline of the whole series so Beinoff and Weiss can probably do what they want.

I can believe that, especially since they said that when they first met with Martin he asked them "who is jon snow's mother?"

So say the show goes ahead of the books while GRRM is still writing them. Would you guys avoid the show and save yourself for the books? I believe that I would.

Don't know if it's been discussed in this thread, but I heard something like they're going to try to stretch two seasons out of one book. Saw it on a discussion video linked from your "villains preview" NIH.

BTW I myself just got caught up with the show. (Both seasons in two days, yes I'm exhausted.) Ordered the first four books today and I'm going to "try" to catch up before the season starts. Look forward to joining the discussion on here. And no I don't mind spoilers.

I definitely would, especially since Martin old them who would end up siting the iron throne.

And if any of my friends spoiled it for me I'd pull a Ramsay and castrate them.
