re: Reggie's Hollywood Hills Crib For Sale
I seems like he has grown up a bit and decided to focus more on his team and his career rather than living the hollywood lifestyle.

When Reggie was first drafted I think it would have been fair to assume that his career earnings would easily exceed $100MM

I would have taken the under all day on that one.

do u think Drew Brees is the only saint that has a house in New Orleans area??

no. Like i said, Brees is one of the few that has really adopted NOLA and become a fixture and visible face in the community.

also, no way in hell they buy a huge house in NOLA as a permanent residence.

He has a sweet condo in One River Place. No need for a mansion. And to the poster that compares new construction in Mandeville to Audubon Place...

yeah, that's normal for a high dollar player. Nice condo/apt/loft in the city where they play, and a big arse house as their permanent residence somewhere else (usually near where they are from).

re: Reggie's Hollywood Hills Crib For Sale
just own/have a place? or consider it "home" and don't go live elsewhere in the offeseason?

2 very different things.

And relax lester, it's not a knock on NOLA, it's just the nature of the industry. It's the same basically everywhere.

Now I'm doubtful that he'll even get to $50MM.

I say he will--this is pieced from various sources, let me know where I'm off:

His original deal had $26.2m in guaranteed money. So he has that.
LINK

Then, per USAToday, his salary for 2006, 2007, 2008 added up to $2.7m. Presumably he got no "not likely to be earned" bonuses, so he's up to $28.9m through his 1st 3 years.
USA today: LINK

Then the saints re-did his deal. It gave him a $4m signing bonus (now we're up to $32.9m earned). It also converted $20m of NLTBE bonus money into $5m in roster bonus money, $4.5m in '09, $0.5m in '10). So we are up to $37.4m (wont include the '10 bonus--as he has to be on the roster and that's not a guarantee).
LINK

So that's the bonus money. In addition he got a salary this year: $2.6m. So now we are up to $40m.

Now the future is the question. His cap hit for 2010 is $13.5m. His salary is $8m in 2010. His cap hit for 2011 is $16m (with an $11.8m salary).

As the article points out, the Saints save $$ by cutting him.

But we could re-do his deal.

Anyway, the worst case for reggie is the saints cut him after the season and he ends with a career $40m earning in the NFL.

But there are endorsements. In 2006 it was reported he was making $5m/yr
