You will probably be able to pick up 870am which is a New Orleans station but has a strong signal.

I picked up 870 last night for the Saints game..., in Dallas!

which was a night game...

Bama is a day game, and you can't pick up 870 during the day from The Woodlands

re: Texas Radio with LSU football
Couple of thoughts, Kind of reaching with these but what the heck:

1) I think that the very first channel on most FM radio dials (87.7 or something like that) usually catches one of the local t.v. stations. The local one is either channel 3 or 6 out of New Orleans IIRC. Neither of these are CBS stations, but you never know. The ones in the area you're driving through might be a CBS station.

2) You can buy one of those radios that catch t.v. stations for pretty cheap. Not sure they work well though.

3) If you have unlimited cell minutes, call someone and have them place the phone next to the radio?

3)

I know in LC the CBS tv audio is broadcast over FM, is this the case anywhere else?

What? That's weird.

I can get 870 at night up here in SW Missouri.

Day games - forget it. Night games come in pretty good.

I am southwest of Houston and just tried 870 at 2:30 and it barely comes in, I could hear it but with a lot of static. I listened to the Tulane game the other night and it sounded great, it is at least worth a shot.

re: Texas Radio with LSU football
When I lived in Austin, I picked up WWL very easily at night once the locals powered down..very clear.

Used to listen to the games on Sat night, and Kaare Johnson and Deke's shows on weeknights in early '00s.

Day game, Joey you may be SOL?

P.S. My friends and I enjoyed meeting you and your lovely lady at the LSU-Ky game in 2007..but there was to be no cowsuit magical ending that day.

Yeah I get 870 all the way out here in West Texas on Friday and Saturday nights

AM Radio signals from clear channel stations like WWL 870AM carry well after the sun goes down, but not while the sun is up. With the 2:30pm Central start, the OP is indeed, screwed.

Call a friend on your cell and have him put his cell next his radio.

you cannot get 870 during the day, it is a clear channel (not ownership, FCC classification)50k night signal, meaning it can be heard AFTER dark in all 48 states

790 The Sports Animal announced that they will air the game on Saturday. It is a Houston based sports station.

870 becomes clearer at night. I thought it was because they turn up their signal then but whatever it is better at night. I was camping out near Marble Falls two weekends ago and picked up the Auburn game loud and clear like being in New Orleans or Baton Rouge.

Hopefully this will work,

If not, this is a good idea, thanks,
