Jim Rome interviewed Charles Barkley on "The NFL Today" on CBS Sunday. That's where the two discussed the Adrian Peterson child abuse situation. During the interview Sir Charles defended Peterson saying that he is "from the south" and "that whipping, we do that all the time." They also discussed Ray Rice. Check it out...

Although Charles didn't express his opinion efficiently, he is right. The issue here though is not whether you spank your kid... The issue is "How far is TOO far?". Leaving marks like that which persist days after the fact is intolerable. You can definitively use corporal punishment without leaving marks and future scars over a prolonged time period. Welts last a few minutes. Marks like AP left last a lifetime.

People like to say Charles is stupid... but he's often the voice of reason. He's got what a lot of people lack... common sense.

jim rome has always been and continues to be a little prick of a man. I would pay to watch Charles give him a whipping.
