The team made the announcement Monday as it begins preparations for its Week 5 game at Detroit.

Orton was signed in August to a contract that pays him $5 million in the first year.

Manuel was the Bills' first-round draft pick in 2013 and had started 14 games over the past two seasons. He makes an estimated $2 million per season.
Manuel is currently two games under .500 in his career as a starter in Buffalo.
