Johnny Manziel Says He's Ready For The NFL

At a media event for Thursday's College Football Awards show, Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel talked about being ready for the 2014 NFL Draft. Per Gabe Bock @TexAgsRadio on Twitter...
quote:

"Manziel: I've gotten better as a complete quarterback. I'm a more accurate passer and have improved in my pocket awareness.

Manziel: Biggest factor [for NFL] is, "Am I ready for the next level?" You don't want to be unprepared for NFL and leave 2 years on table.

Manziel: I'll sit down in the next few weeks and talk to [my mentors and coaches] to see if I'm ready for the NFL. In my mind, I am ready."
What do you think?

I'd love the Saints to get him to learn from Brees for 5 years like Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre.

Brees is the man, but he can't have more than 3 or 4 years at this level left IMO and lingering injuries become more likely as he gets older.

I think he's as good as he is going to be in the NFL. Which isn't saying much.

I'm not quite so sure. I don't think he's ready to come in and lead a team as a rookie. But I do think it would be good for him to come in behind a veteran player and really learn to develop. Manziel is a project. I think he has nice upside. But he real need to mature before he ever meets his potential imo.

I think LSU showed otherwise. Contain his running and you contain him...
