The Washington Redskins name is getting more scrutiny than every before. It's been a hot topic this season and according to the Washington Post, commissioner Roger Goodell is going to sit down to talk to Washington owner Dan Snyder about it.
quote:

"The meeting between Snyder and Goodell “is to get more of an understanding from the club as to how it plans to address the issue,” according to the person with knowledge of the situation."
Snyder has been very outspoken about not changing the name.

@Oily
You must not have read the article, because that "one guy" was a legit former chief of an entire states tribe. Also, everyone coming out saying its offensive are fat white reporters sitting behind a desk telling you to be mad about it. So good job being such an impressionability count.

"the right thing" isn't crystal clear buddy. Your idea of the right thing may differ from the next guys. Redskins, while offensive to a select few, isn't a universally recognized ethnic slur like kyke or spic or wop. Racism exists and it's part of your everyday life. It's up to you to be an adult and learn the difference between what's appropriate and what isn't. Only a fool takes offense when none was intended.

It's not about who is offended or not. It's about doing the right thing. It's pretty simple if you dare to think about it objectively.

@Oily I'm offended you would even want to show respect to the indigenous swine that impeded our progress during the colonization of this fine land. It offends me so therefore it's your responsibility to do something to change it so me and people like me aren't offended anymore.

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Goodell need to be anally raped with a rusty tire iron for their disgusting leftist surrenderist appeasing pussy fart un-American behavior. P**S on the little sniveling leftists who are "offended!" The needs/wants of the many outweigh the butt-hurt feelings of the infected uneducated entitlement oriented food stamp/welfare few....(oh wait....the entitlement/uneducated is becoming the majority....sigh.....nevermind). Time to go to the range for some liberal target practice.

I don't agree with having to change the name just because "a few" are potentially offended. However, can you imagine how much $$$$$$$$ The 'Skins and Snyder would make by re-branding the team with a new logo and name.

Marketing dream come true!

Redskin actually isn't racist at all according to this chieftain and would in fact be offended if the name was changed.

In another interview I've seen with various other Indians, they to say the same thing. Most importantly, however, a lot of them have said that the name "Chief" is actually offensive to them as its a title revered for a single individual whose power and influence is as close to a god as a human can get. So maybe we really should be talking to Clark Hunt about a name change if anybody.

If showing one inkling of respect to the people that we stole America from is pussification, then sign me up.

Pussification of America.
They should paint a tear under that Indians eye reminiscent of Wayne's World 2.
