Despite the relentless ESPN hype machine, more people watched Duck Dynasty last week than the Notre Dame Vs. Michigan game, according to TV by Numbers. Duck Dynasty was the most-watched show on cable last week with 10.4 million viewers. The Notre Dame-Michigan was the second most-watched with 8.6 million viewers. College football also occupied spots 3 and 4 with South Carolina vs. Georgia (7 million viewers) and College Football Scoreboard (sandwiched between both games, 6.2 million viewers).

Who the hell wants to watch anything to do with run of the mill teams not even in the SEC?

The UM-ND game only had high ratings because those schools have the two largest fanbases in the country.

So one was on a Wed. night (when most people are at home) and the other was on a Sat. night (when many people are out of the house) What a terrible comparison. I'm sure if Duck Dynasty was on at the same time as the ND/Mich game, the ratings wouldn't even be close and would favor the football game by a substantial amount.

If you want to bash ESPN, fine, but at least come up with a good argument.

Comparing shows from different genres that air on different nights doesn't work. ESPN had monster numbers for a sporting event on cable on a Saturday night.
