Kentucky’s spirits were down after a 30-point blowout loss at Tennessee, the low point of which was coach John Calipari calling some of his players “uncoachable.” Prior to Wednesday’s game against Vanderbilt, Coach Cal arranged for a team-bonding activity that would get his team happy again: Dodgeball.
quote:

“We’re not competing at the level that we need to,” Calipari explained in the video of the game, which you can watch in its entirety here. “Part of that is because of the anxiety of being a little bit tentative. So we played dodgeball. And after they were done I said, ‘Why don’t you go on the basketball court and have that much fun playing basketball?’ ”

This one is pretty cool. I never liked Calipari, but this was a good idea just to loosen his players up. They played scared to lose and not to win.
