One day after TMZ reported about Johnny Manziel partying in a Oklahoma casino, Texas A&M Athletic Director Eric Hyman had a sitdown with his parents to discuss the star’s recent behavior and what is expected of him, now that he is in the limelight.
quote:

“I told them he’s no longer a freshman, and he’s no longer a sophomore, junior or senior,” Hyman said Sunday. “He is a ‘Heisman.’”

“It’s (about) education, and we’ve got to help the family and Johnny with the transition into being a Heisman award winner,” Hyman said. “There are things you have to learn, and we have to help him with that.”

“That’s a special fraternity, but you also have to understand (Manziel) is 20 years old,” Hyman said. “It’s a tremendous responsibility — but it is a responsibility.”

Hyman did a great job of managing Stephen Garcia's off-the-field antics while he was the AD at USCe.

I don't get this story? Was he caught smoking pot or railing a line of coke? The answer is no. People need to relax!

Why did Hyman feel the need to leak that he had a meeting with the Manziel family?

MISSnTX TIGER - LSU fans DO understand that. LSU fans did not want the honey badger to come back. We do not want distractions and trouble makers. All of these thugs are going to give our university the image that Miami has had for the last 20 years. Johnny football may have an image that the university wants him to live up to but damn, he is only 20 years old.

I hope all of these commentors are students because they certainly aren't professionals or managers. The kid is set to make a lot of money down the road and the last thing he needs to do is go down Honey Badger Road. It is easy to find and even easier to get lost on once you make that turn. You would think that LSU fans, of all people, would understand that.

Since the season started, JFF has broken no rules, broken no laws, no NCAA violations...he is having a great time. I think Hyman was just letting him know the eyes of Texas are upon him, be cool. Never did he tell him to grow up.

Hit piece by a bad author. The title has no bearing on the actual events that transpired. Just another NBC writer butthurt that his golden boy, Te'O, not only didn't win the Heisman, but proved the voters right.

I don't blame him for getting the most out of his recent success. Now's the time to celebrate before a possible sophomore slump.

Johnny has probably slain more tail than the entire aTm campus this past year. That's not saying much, but still impressive.

Johnny needs to tell the athletic director to STFU. The school is making millions off Johnny. Keep doing your thing Johnny as long as you're not breaking the law.
