The New Orleans Bowl MVP trophy is a new modern football helmet painted in green, gold and purple with a Mardi Gras theme by “sports artist” Thomas “Tuna” Seither. Seither also painted the image of the Superdome and a Bourbon Street lamp to complete the testament to the Crescent City.
quote:

“I tried to treat it just like a painting or a canvas and I didn’t let anything inhibit me,” Seither said in a story for The Advertiser. “As you look at the detail, that’s the detail I would have gotten on a painting. People are going nuts over it. I think people relate to a football helmet. It gets people going.”

Wow... when they said sports are changing and these days everyone gets a trophy they were right. I saw all the players on both of the teams carrying similar trophies. In fact, they even wore the trophies on their heads the entire game like some sort of crazy hat!

Very cool. Just seems lazy by the bowl committee though.
