Southern Miss freshman quarterback Anthony Alford's mother was escorted from the stands at Southern Miss’ M.M. Roberts Stadium on Saturday and subsequently booked into the Forrest County jail on disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges. There was a loud argument between Mrs. Alford’s and a fan who had berated her son’s play that led to her ejection from the stands.

College football fans forget some very important things.
1. These are 18-21 year old kids. How would they feel if thoughtless individuals treated their own kids like that?
2. How would they feel if they heard other idiots unfairly abusing their own kids?
3. They probably never played that sport at the level that they feel so specially able to critique.
4. These kids are part of their own university family now.
5. That fan ought to get his arse kicked.

I'm glad this was not at LSU. This a good reminder for all fans on the impact of their thoughts on other people. BTW, they should have kicked out the fan.

I've been to several of their games this year. It's a tough team to watch, and he just isn't a very good qb. I feel sorry for the mom, though.

Didn't we show some interest in him as a qb but everyone said he was a lock for the MLB draft?

Is she stacked like AJ McCarron's mom? If not, she's in trouble because Southern Miss is still winless on the year.
