Back in April, South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier ripped Nick Saban, saying...
quote:

“If he wants to be the greatest coach or one of the greatest coaches in college football, to me, he has to go somewhere besides Alabama and win, because they’ve always won there at Alabama."
Well, little Nicky has responded during his Tuesday interview on the Dan Patrick radio show...
quote:

“LSU wasn’t winning when I went there. Michigan State wasn’t winning when I went there. Toledo wasn’t winning when I went there. And Alabama really wasn’t winning when I came here. I guess I gotta go someplace else. I don’t know.”

Give Nicky credit at Toledo and sparta. But talent pools typically run deep at LSU and bamerland. He is a master recruiter. He also said that "The Dolphins weren't winning when I got there and . . . Wait! there's no recruiting in the NFL?". But Spurrier said the same thing.

Saban is right. He is a GREAT college coach and no one can deny. I don't like him but I can't hate on him and act like he ain't a winner at the college level. But somebody did say it he can't handle the big leagues. Miami loves him haha

lsu had 2 losing seasons back to back, so yes they were close to being in shambles. coaching is not mostky about x's and o's people. its also about the delivery of communcation to your players with the knowledge you know. he can do that better than anybody i know. every coach has lots of knowledge. they all go to the same seminars and learn new stuff. can you get your players to execute. thats 90% of coaching.

you are wrong. his last year at toledo he went undefeated and at michigan state he had a winning record every year and the last year he went 10-2. they were not good before he got there. also lsu had some talent and he won ok with that talent. 2003 was all the guys he recruited in his first recruiting class and they won it, so he has won everywrhere he has been. he would have won at miami if he would have stayed longer. he knew he didn't mesh in the nfl. no that was not dinardo's guys. he won the nc in 4th year at lsu. so most of dinardo's had graduated by then. so you are wrong. the guy knows how to coach and win. period. give him credit. it doesn't matter what players were there. obvisoulsy the other coaches couldn't win with it. by the way you can win the kentucky derby with a mule. you have to have some talent

If Tulane hired Saban, they would be undefeated in year 2. The schedule's usually pretty shitty. He's probably get them in the Big 12 in year 3 and win NC in 4.

It's sour grapes from a man past his f'n prime. Saban is one of the greatest of all time. We (lsu fans) knows it. Alabama knows it. THe SEC, and the rest of the nation knows it. I don't two shits where he's coaching at, what he's done deserves to be recognized.

I'm now going to take a shower.

He didn't shake the world at either Mich State OR Toledo, and he stepped into a gold mine of talent when he got to LSU. Not saying he's not one of the best in the business, but he's letting his fame go to his head.

Steve Spurrier's always been a punk. I love to see somebody cut him down.

I don't know if that's more of a rip at Steve Spurrier or a rip on Mike Shula?

LSU had just ripped Arkansas a new one with an interim coach the day before Nick Saban got on a jet to come to LSU. All the team needed was a different voice to listen to.
