Coach Jones was not happy with LSU's start. They went down 10-3 early after allowing two quick three's and some drives into the lane. However, LSU cleaned that up quickly and went into halftime up 17. No Tiger played over 26 minutes as LSU was able to empty the bench and still win by 27.

Shavon Coleman and Johnny O'Bryant paced LSU's scoring with 16 each. Jarell Martin had his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Mickey finished with 11 points, 7 boards, and 3 blocks. Similarly to LSU's game versus Butler, Andre Stringer and Anthony Hickey did not contribute near their averages only scoring a combined 10 points and 4 assists.

As a team, LSU did not shoot well only hitting 43.2% of their inside shots and 32.0% of their threes, but they were able to hit 23/28 from the free throw line for a very impressive 82.1%. That included a 7/7 game from Mickey who is now shooting 77% from the line.

Over the last 8 games, Shavon Coleman has hit 13 of 23 three point attempts for an outstanding 57%. He has been LSU's most impressive shooter this year averaging 75% from the FT line, 56% from 2 point land and 45% from three.

Henry Shortess picked up his second assist of the year and Eddlestone scored his first career field goal making a nice baby hook from just outside the paint. Darcy Malone hit his second three pointer of the year on 5 attempts. Shane Hammink led the team with 3 offensive boards in only 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, we did not see quite as impressive of a performance out of Tim Quarterman, who ended with 3 assists and 2 turnovers, but there were glimpses of what he can bring to the team. He was able to get into the paint with ease and pass the ball out to open shooters. Still, his 0-5 shooting shows he has work to do shooting the ball.

Up next, LSU hosts Rhode Island in the teams final out of conference game of the regular season. The game will be next Saturday at 7pm and will be LSU's final tuneup before taking on Tennessee the following Tuesday on national TV.
