ESPN is reporting that Morris Claiborne will miss the rest of the season because of a torn patellar tendon in his left knee suffered in the Dallas Cowboys' win Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Claiborne suffered the non-contact injury on a third-and-3 play with 5:52 left in the first quarter. He did not return to the game and owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the initial fears were a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

On 105.3 The Fan in Dallas Monday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones confirmed Claiborne's injury. Claiborne will need surgery.
