Missouri WR Levi Copelin Dismissed From Team

Missouri coach Gary Pinkel announced on Monday that sophomore Levi Copelin had been dismissed from the program.

Copelin, a 6-foot-2 and 190-pound wide receiver from Broken Arrow, Okla., was expected to compete for a starting role this season, but instead he was suspended for the season July 29 after a failed drug test.

Pinkel did not elaborate on his decision or the timing of Copelin’s dismissal. “I don’t discuss personnel issues,” Pinkel said.

During two-plus seasons at Missouri, Copelin was arrested twice. He was currently serving a year-long NCAA suspension after testing positive for an unspecified banned substance.

He is not tPOS.....but loses much for his mistakes. He most likely would have been a starter this year and had the chance for greatness by his junior year. He was one of the group in the vehicle with DGB in the stadium parking lot for the Mary Jane possession/arrest two years ago. His suspension this past summer was not for an illegal substance, as it is sold over the counter. But was something he should have known to clear first with training staff.

One thing I am certain of is that Nick Marshall would have a much stiffer suspension at Mizzou for a first offense Mary Jane possession.
